Marked with the Royal Seal of Louis XIV, this place once housed one of the coolers of Aix en Provence.
In 1681 this place was an important economic actor for the city of Aix, a cooler was built there, making it possible to supply the city with ice. 180,000 litres of ice were collected, stored and processed.
A royal privilege gave Madeleine de Gaillard De Venel, governess of Cardinal MAZARIN's nieces, the income from these buildings.
Today TERRE UGO tells their story.
